Finishes: Staircases are available in three finishes: the standard satin powder coated
black, and for an added cost, the optional premium finishes, Gun Metal Pewter and
Dark Satin Bronze. Optional zinc powder primer is available for exterior applications,
for an additional charge. Instructions: All hardware and complete assembly
instructions are provided with each staircase kit.

A selection of stock and custom components (balusters, handrail, newel post) is
available to complete and customize the Kensington installation.
Landings: Custom cast aluminum or steel plate landings can be made to each job’s
specifications. Whatever shape the stairwell may be, Steptoe’s shop can create the
necessary landing. Alternatively, a local carpenter or metal fabricator can prepare
the landing from a wide range of materials.
The Classic decorative iron newel post is ideally suited to anchor the Kensington
staircase, but can also be used with custom railings for any project.
The Kensington Historic tread, designed for the straight staircase, was inspired
by a turn-of-the-century cast iron stair found in historic Georgetown, Washington, DC.
With a raised linear pattern, this tread provides superior grip making it ideal for use
in all weather conditions. |
