The 4’ diameter Albany, introduced in 1976,
is adapted from a design that first appeared
in England around 1870. So popular is the
Albany design that this model is now also
offered in a 5’ diameter, providing 50% more
tread surface than the original 4’ Albany.
Primarily designed for use as a secondary
stair and an ideal solution where space is
at a premium, the Albany is an excellent
way to access lofts, balconies, attics, decks
or a wall of bookshelves. The open fretwork
tread design makes the Albany particularly
suitable for exterior installation, as snow and
rain do not collect on the surface.
