Steptoe president, Bernard Snitman, a member
of the Canadian Association of Professional
Heritage Consultants, provides consultative
services on projects where architects need to
learn the history and the period manufacturing
techniques related to a particular mode of
fabrication. A large resource library and an
impressive body of work completed over the
last three decades form a solid foundation
to draw on.
BCE Place, Toronto, Ontario. The historic facades
of BCE Place required complete replication of
missing cast iron capitals, keystone and bracket
details. These parts were modeled in wood,
cast in iron and finally assembled into finished
parts for site installation.
CIBC Private Banking Hall, Toronto, Ontario.
When private banking facilities were established
in the main banking hall of the historic CIBC
Toronto head office, the original bronze air vent
panels were copied and over 100’ of cast bronze
grilles were fabricated for use as office dividers.
