Ford Center, New York, New York.
When cast iron and steel railings were required
for the restoration of the Lyric / Apollo Theatres
(renamed the Ford Center) in New York City,
Steptoe was contracted to shop-fabricate them.
A panel casting of the historic exterior balcony
rail was supplied to duplicate for use in the
interior “Grand Staircase” and elliptical balcony
railing. This featured iron casting weighed
90 lbs. and after alteration became a double-
sided panel. The Ford Center has become a
feature of the redevelopment of Times Square.
